Trimble Introduces New Pacific Crest Wide-Band Data Link Module for Field Communications

High-Speed, Wireless Data Link Provides Precise Positioning and Maximizes Productivity

ESSEN, Germany, October 8, 2013–Trimble (NASDAQ: TRMB) introduced today the new Pacific Crest XDL Micro with 2-Watt output power. The XDL Micro is an advanced, high-speed, wireless data link module built to withstand the rigors of GNSS/RTK surveying and precise positioning.

The XDL Micro is a 0.5-2.0 range Watt UHF transceiver designed for integration into products that require either a one- or two-way radio communication link covering 70 MHz in a single band (403-473 MHz). It is a lightweight, ruggedized UHF module designed for digital radio communications with a high over-the-link rate that supports 1Hz RTK corrections for multi-GNSS receivers. It features software-derived channel bandwidth compatible with either 12.5 or 25 kHz channels.

This sophisticated radio module uses Pacific Crest’s latest generation XDL modem technology and is backward compatible with existing Pacific Crest products. Using the latest technology, users can instantly communicate with GNSS precise positioning receivers that share the same protocols throughout the world.

“The XDL Micro is an ideal high-speed radio receiver for products that require a one- or two-way communications link,” said Charlie Branch, portfolio manager for Pacific Crest radios. “Its interoperability with existing equipment and greater functionality allow customers to rapidly integrate and cost-effectively deploy the XDL Micro with their products and solutions.”

Availability

The new 2-Watt XDL Micro is available now through the Pacific Crest international dealer network.
